First Class Nursery Newsletter – Edition One
Dear Parents/Carers,
Welcome to all our new parent/carers and of course our continuing parents/carers. We have had a lovely summer and we hope you all have too!
First and foremost we have been notified of rumours circulating that we are closing due to the school building their own nursery. We would like to reassure you this is not the case and we are staying open, if you have any questions regarding this matter please see a member of our team.
Now onto the fun stuff, we love Autumn and have lots of exciting activities planned for our children. We are going to be doing nature walks, listening walks and lots more fun things, if you are out and about with your children, we would love any Autumn items such as conkers, acorns and leaves.

The page will be used for information sharing, sharing achievements, creations and all about the nursery day. We also now have an Instagram account if you would like to follow us our name is firstclassnursery1. If you would like any further information please speak with a member of our team. Don’t forget to give us a like our page is called ‘first class nursery’.
Lost Property
We seem to be gathering a lot of lost property such as jackets etc, please can you make sure your child has all their belongings before leaving nursery, staff try their best to remember what your child was wearing but we see that many children in and out sometimes we forget. Where possible labelled clothing would be a great help.
Capture Education
As you are aware your child’s observations and photographs are sent to you via the capture app. As part of parental partnerships, we will now be adding a home learning activity, please can we ask you take some time to view this and implement it at home, We understand lives are very busy but it would be of great value to your child’s learning and development. We would love to see any home learning pictures/observations and you can send them via capture.

Health & Safety Notice
If your child has medication or creams, please give these to a member of staff; don’t leave them in your child’s bag.
As the weather is typically unpredictable at this time of year can parents/carers please ensure their child has wellies. The Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum, followed by our nursery, advises that children benefit most when they have full access to indoor and outdoor environments to explore at will. Your child should also be suitably dressed, for the weather and wear sensible shoes, your child will be climbing, riding bikes and running around on various textured surfaces. Clothing may get dirty as your child plays so please ensure your child wears old clothes that you do not mind getting dirty and brings a jacket or cardigan in case they get chilly.
Unfortunately, this item is out of our control! We have been asked again to remind you to please, please NOT park in the CAR PARK when dropping off or collecting your child, as this is for staff only. If you have a family or friend dropping off or picking up your child, could you please remind them. It is also of great importance that for safeguarding reasons you do not walk your child through the car park, please use the path provided – thank you!
Water Bottles
Can we please ask that all children have a water bottle, if your child has had theirs for a while, please bring in a new one.
Also snacks are not required to be brought into nursery, we provide all snacks throughout the day.
Bags
The children’s bags seem to be taking up more and more space, we recommend you only bring a bag if absolutely necessary and that it can be as small as possible to save space.
Packed Lunch
We know some of our children prefer to bring a packed lunch to nursery instead of nursery lunch. This is absolutely fine but please be mindful of what you are putting in them, try and keep it as healthy as possible and don’t over pack as there seems to be so much wasted food. (All chocolate bars will be confiscated by the aunties 😂 you’ve been warned!)
Family Pictures
We would love to have a family wall showing all the children’s family photographs, could we please ask you all to bring in a family photo so we can start this wall 😊, Children love to look at their own friends and family this helps to encourage and describe special times or events for family or friends, therefore expand language development and encouraging social interaction. We can always take a picture for you if that is easier.
Items From Home
We have noticed that lots of our children are bringing toys in from home and coming into nursery dressed up. We would like to ask that children don’t bring in toys or be dressed up, some of these toys cost a lot of money and are so easily lost in nursery, the children get upset and staff have to spend time looking for lost items, thank you.
Thank you for all your continuing support,
Love, all the First Class Aunties.
